Encore Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy in Corvallis — Start Rebuilding in Days, Not Months
One-on-one care with a licensed physical therapist, on NW 9th Street since 2009.
Pain doesn't hold still while you sit on a waiting list. We can typically schedule an evaluation within a couple of weeks, and in Oregon you can usually start physical therapy without a doctor's referral. We don't chase symptoms. We teach you what's happening in your body, then build the plan around what you're actually trying to get back to — whether that's the court, the trail, the job, the instrument, or the floor to play with the kids.

What we treat
Three Ways In. One Team Behind All of Them.
Most people arrive with something specific: a knee that gave out, a shoulder that won't cooperate after surgery, a back that flares every time the season changes. Start wherever your problem lives.
Rehabilitation
Back and neck, hip and knee, foot and ankle, shoulder, balance and gait, arthritis, neurological conditions, pre- and post-surgical recovery, plus motor vehicle and on-the-job injuries. A thorough evaluation first, then a plan that names the source of your symptoms, not just the ache.
Learn moreSports Medicine
Sports injury rehab, conditioning, and return-to-sport work, with dedicated pages for pickleball, running, golf and cycling, and a section on swimming. Built for the middle-aged athlete who intends to still be moving well at 80.
Learn moreMusical Instrument Rehabilitation
Repetitive strain, posture problems, TMJ, neck and shoulder pain, and finger and hand injuries for players. Chris earned a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance before switching to physical therapy, so the demands of hours in the practice room aren't abstract here.

Small Practice. Same Therapist. Faster Start.
You'll be evaluated one-on-one by a licensed physical therapist, and you won't be handed to a different face every visit. Treatment leans on hands-on manual therapy, drawing on methods from Maitland, McKenzie, Kaltenborn, Mulligan, strain counterstrain and muscle energy, paired with prescribed exercise you'll do in the clinic and at home. Modalities like heat, cold or ultrasound get used when they help reduce pain and calm inflammation, not by default. If you're not improving, the plan changes.
One-on-one evaluation
with a licensed PT, not handed off to an aide.
Continuity of care
the same therapist through your plan.
Manual therapy first
hands-on assessment and treatment, plus exercise you'll actually do.
Goals set with you
you help define what “better” means.

Patient experience
What Actually Happens in the Room
We publish patient comments only with written permission, so instead of borrowed praise, here's the process itself. Your first visit is an evaluation with a physical therapist who will examine you thoroughly, explain what's driving the symptoms in plain language, and set goals with you rather than at you. You'll leave understanding your own body better than when you walked in. That's the standard the practice holds itself to.
